This course is designed for individuals seeking advanced proficiency in suit alteration techniques. It provides hands-on training in professional alteration methods for suit trousers and jackets, equipping students with practical skills and a clear understanding of essential workflows.
Course Content
Trousers Alteration
- Length adjustment (retaining the original hem finishes)
- Zipper replacement
Jacket & Coat Alteration
- Converting full lining to half lining
- Shoulder modifications (including adjustments for square and slope shoulders)
- Back modifications (from vented to ventless styles)
- Body length and width adjustments
- Sleeve length adjustments
Requirement
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Possess basic industrial sewing machine operation skills; or
- Have completed the Clothing Industry Training Authority’s “Clothing Alteration Fast Track Course I” or “Professional Hand Sewing Techniques” course.
