This 3-day course aims to equip students with sewing skills in making a typical classic men’s dress shirt which comprises the components of shirt collar with stand, long sleeves, patch pocket, sleeve plackets and curved bottom hem. A variety of garment parts (standard shirt vs concealed front placket, tailored vs continuous sleeve placket, patch pocket with rounded vs square corners) will also be covered.
It requires a higher skill level than making short sleeves shirt with one piece shirt collar in Learn to Sew in 3 Days (Shirt)
Content
You will sew up a men’s long sleeves dress shirt and in the process, you will learn:
- Garment structure (men’s dress shirt)
- Skills in sewing shirt collar with stand, standard front placket, patch pocket (square corners), curved bottom hem, tailored sleeve plackets and cuffs
- Skills in sewing garment parts: continuous sleeve placket, concealed placket, patch pocket (rounded corners)
Requirement
- Completed “Learn to Sew in 3 Days (Shirt)” or equivalent
