HK Textiles & Garment Industry Releases Report on ” A Proposal for Creating New Advantages for Hong Kong’s Textile and Apparel Industry”

The Hong Kong textiles and garment industry recently released the report “A Proposal for Creating New Advantages for Hong Kong’s Textile and Apparel Industry” ( 《締造香港新優勢的紡織服裝業方案》). Against the backdrop of our country’s 15th Five-Year Plan, which emphasises the optimisation and upgrading of traditional competitive industries, the sector has demonstrated a united commitment to seizing this strategic opportunity. The report puts forward six key policy recommendations, aiming to proactively align with national development priorities through strengths in supply chain management, product design, brand development and professional services.
The report was commissioned by industry stakeholders and prepared by a research team from the Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). It was conducted under the guidance of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) and received joint support from Hong Kong General Chamber of Textiles, Textile Council of Hong Kong, and several other industry associations.
